How to Add a Gap to Your Diary

There are two ways to add a Gap in the Total Drive app. Choose the method that works best for you.

Method 1: Using the Blue Circle "+" Button

This method works from any screen in the app.



Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Tap the blue circle "+" icon – it appears on all screens within the app.

  2. Select "Gap" from the pop-up menu that appears.

  3. Complete the Gap details:

    • Set the Start time and Duration

    • Select the Gearbox type (Manual/Automatic)

    • Choose Repeat options if the Gap recurs

    • Add Locations (optional)

  4. Tap "Advanced Options" to add additional information.

  5. Choose who to notify:
    You can send the Gap to:

    • ✅ Active Pupils

    • ✅ Waiting List

    • ✅ Active & Waiting List

    • ✅ New Pupils

    • ✅ Active & New Pupils

  6. Tap "Save" (tick)to complete


Method 2: Using the Diary Day View

This method is quicker if you're already looking at your diary.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open your Diary and go to the Day View.

  2. Tap on any free slot within the diary.

  3. At the top, tap the "Gap" option.

  4. Complete the basic details:

    • Date

    • Time

    • Duration

    • Gearbox type

  5. Tap "Advanced Options" to add:

    • Repeat settings (if the Gap recurs)

    • Location (students will see where the lesson is available)

    • Option to send a notification to your Active Pupils

  6. Tap "Save" (tick) to complete the Gap.
