Gaps Plus is a brand new feature that allows instructors to make gaps in their diary payable at the time of booking. Pupils can pay directly through the app, ensuring confirmed bookings and reducing wasted lesson slots. This feature has been in development for some time and is designed to give instructors greater control, while offering pupils a smooth booking and payment experience.

Upgrade Requirements


Gaps Plus is available exclusively on the Ultimate and Elite Total Drive packages. If you’re on a lower package, you’ll need to upgrade your plan to access this feature.

How to use Gaps Plus


From the App

  1. Open the Total Drive app.
  2. Tap three lines in the top left-hand corner of your diary > Diary Settings > Options.
  3. Scroll down to Gaps Plus and expand the menu.
  4. Configure:
    • Visibility – Show or hide gaps to pupils.
    • Hide gaps – Automatically hide before the gap begins.
    • Display – Choose how far in advance gaps appear.
    • Booking limits – Restrict how many pupils can book per week.
    • Credit – Decide whether pupils need credit to book.

How to add a Gaps Plus gap

  1. Open the Total Drive app.

  2. Either tap on the diary or the quick add button to add a gap.

  3. Fill in the required information and add a price for the gap.

  4. Press the tick in the top right-hand corner to save.

Now, before a pupil can book in this gap, they will need to pay.


From the Web Admin

  1. Log in to the Web Admin.
  2. Select Gaps from the tabs at the top.
  3. Click the blue and white + button to create a new gap.
  4. Enter the details, assign a price, and press Add Gap.
  5. To edit an existing gap, select Action > Edit, assign a price, and press Save Gap.

Payment Setup

To enable Gaps Plus payments, you’ll need to set up payment processing with Adyen.

  • You do not need to use full payment processing to benefit from Premium GAPS.
  • If payment processing is enabled, pupils will see the Pay button in their app when booking premium gaps.

Important Information

  • Gaps Plus cannot be enabled without payment processing.
  • Pupils will not see the pay button if you haven’t set up products or enabled payments.
